Zante, also called Zakynthos, has grown steadily in popularity with Irish holidaymakers, thanks to its lush green scenery, golden sand beaches, and the warm hospitality of its friendly islanders.
Zakynthos Town, the attractive capital, with its busy, arcaded streets full of shops and restaurants, stands on a wide bay, watched over by the ruins of a Venetian fortress.
